I attended a conference where a friend was speaking. I only went to see my friend; I couldn’t care less about the topic. That’s always the way these things happen.
My friend’s session was late starting, so I killed time in the room next door. The young man at the podium was a riveting speaker, full of pluck and insight. He only had ten minutes on the microphone, but the kid nailed his presentation and had the room buzzing by the time he was done.
I had to run just as the young man left the stage. Over lunch I asked my friend, “Do you know the young guy Drew who spoke in the meeting room next to yours?”……
