As I write this, Peyton Manning is simply the best quarterback right now – maybe ever.

Peyton has been flawless so far this season. He and his team find a way to win – even as he was outgunned this past weekend by Tony Romo. The Cowboys quarterback completed 25-of-36 passes for 506 yards and five touchdowns. Manning had a mere 414 yards and four TD passes.

Through five games Peyton has passed for 20 touchdowns, has one interception and amassed 1,884 yards. It means he is averaging about 377 yards passing per game. With 16 games in the season, he is on pace for 64 TDs and 6,032 yards.

The most yards in a single season was 5,477 in 2011 by Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints…….
